Medical Cannabis Goes to Washington
Today is President's Day, and I find myself writing this blog after thousands marched on our nation's capital demanding our president recognize the science behind climate change yesterday. These people are my heroes and I would be there except for the fact that I am a dedicated medical cannabis advocate, and hundreds of supporters of safe access to medical cannabis for therapeutic use and research will be attending the nation's first medical cannabis conference in Washington DC February 22nd through the 25th. Included as a keynote speaker is John Schwarz, a theoretical physics professor at the California Institute of Technology and father of string theory.
Schwarz's wife, Patricia says she sees parallels between medical marijuana and the fight over climate change, where a preponderance of scientists support climate science but a corps of deniers has successfully fought the overwhelming evidence. Patricia, who, after being diagnosed with a bladder condition in 1995 found medical marijuana was the only thing that relieved her pain. It's a privilege and an honor to be counted among the many that will be advocating for the therapeutic use and research of cannabis.
