Hiking, Biking and Bagels
Spring is in the air and it's a bright sunshiny day here in Oakland. I Feel Good! Me and my wife have been living the active lifestyle lately. We have been hiking with our dog in the East Bay park system; so far we've hiked Tilden, Sibley and Redwood.
We also recently bought bikes and have been peddling fools every chance we get. Yesterday we rode to Beauty's Bagels (http://www.beautysbagelshop.com/) and then to Whole Foods to buy groceries. I'm proud to be carless at this point in our planets history.
Until we get a grip on our fossil fuel addiction and clean cars are a normal part of life; I'll remain without an automobile. Besides I don't need one to get far. There are many other options. It may not be as convenient, but it is easier on my mind to know I'm not contributing to the destruction of our ecosystem, plus I'm getting a work out. I'm helping to create better America and I'm not alone, everyday more and more Americans are choosing to give up their cars for a number of reasons: http://www.streetfilms.org/streetfacts-2-americans-are-driving-less/
