Hawaiian Vacation

Happy 2014! My resolution is to bring more joy and bliss into this world. I spent my Christmas Vacation in Hawai'i on the island of Kaui. In honor of this trip I wrote a poem. Enjoy -

You tell me to hush, but Kaui is so lush. So many shades of green. Surrounded by ocean; you lay in between. From Hanalei Bay to Waimea Canyon. Queens Bath to Sleeping Giant. How can I stay silent? When everything you've shown has me smiling. Roadside stands filled with fresh fruits, coconut water, shave ice and ramatans while overlooking the grand canyon of Hawaii. It's been so very nice for me, my wife and her whole family. Because Kaui, You've blessed our lives. We've experienced waterfalls, luaos, and lays, grass skirts, coconut rum, and mai thais. Sea shells by the sea shore, beach bums, locals hitchhiking with their thumbs, while on a ukulele they strum and more; like the stars of the milky way spiraling up above. Kaui, you've captured my heart and made me fall in love.
