STAY AT HOME!

It's crazy that Trump is talking about loosening federal guidelines for social distancing and encouraging shuttered businesses to reopen — defying public health experts, who have warned that doing so risks accelerating the spread of coronavirus or even allowing it to rebound, all because Fox News complained economy tanking is worse than a pandemic. Especially when Congress can do many things to help ordinary folks struggling. They need to stop putting profit before health, some are more concerned about the economy than anything else. 

And all you people that are being selfish, spending time outdoors in groups, flocking to the beach and parks. Stop it. Let me tell you something as a spoiled only child I have no problem with staying inside because I don't want anybody to die. I think some self-reflection will do us all good. 

Someone literally said to me that everyone should be given a coronavirus lollipop. And I'm tired of hearing the line about more people dying from the flu, it's unacceptable, untrue, and not cool. We should be working to reduce the deaths period. Besides COVID-19 causes more severe disease than seasonal influenza.

While many people globally have built up immunity to seasonal flu strains, COVID-19 is a new virus to which no one has immunity. That means more people are susceptible to infection, and some will suffer severe disease.

Globally, about 3.4% of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1% of those infected.

Roughly about 30,000-60,000 die every year from flu

CDC projection estimated that the U.S. coronavirus epidemic could infect between 160 million and 214 million people over a period of more than a year — and kill anywhere from 200,000 to 1.7 million people in the country. 

Please contact your Senators and other elected officials in government. Demand they take bold action to fight the virus and protect families and communities.
