Destination Stores Are The Future of Brick and Mortar Retail




I bring you two stories about two different industries that intersect quite often. Cannabis and Coffee.

As I stated for almost 5 years now the future is not in simple over the counter retail transactions at brick and mortar location's, if you look at the trend in general around shopping. 

Unfortunately most are moving towards delivery and shipping more and more, and cutting back on spending.

Consumers crave convenience, efficiency and ways to save money. The only way you are going to get people to come visit your place in person is by offering them a destination store.

Brick and mortar stores are dying as everyone shops online, with exceptions, watch "This Rags-To-Riches Business Has Beat The Retail Apocalypse (HBO)" on YouTube. I actually came across video a few years ago, and filed it away under inspiration.

I definitely think a cannabis consumption lounge is a must if you sell cannabis or even coffee. Offering curbside and pre order pick up, and delivery is a must too. As well as hosting licensed events with live music, and DJs, and having a special and unique personality. 

You must stand out from the crowd to be crowned successful these days. Don't be a cookie cutter. Find out about your local area's roots and culture. Get involved in your community. Give back as much as you possibly can. Maybe put up a mural from a local artist. 

You must have a story that captures the zeitgeist of today's consumer or be driven out of business.
