ASA CA Tour Rolls Back Thru SF
We have another action packed medical cannabis week ahead. Right on the heals of last weeks Americans for Safe Access (ASA) Raid Preparedness Training at San Francisco City Hall this past Friday. It was hosted by 12 year veteran of the medical marijuana movement, Don Duncan, ASA’s California Director. He provided dispensary staff and community activists with invaluable information.
In light of the recent federal activity against medical cannabis communities across the country, now more than ever, we must join together to prepare our community for the next steps we will take to protect safe access in California. Attendees learned to protect their rights and the rights of others in the event they are targeted in a raid.
And this Friday, August 26th ASA will be back in SF. This time Steph Sherer, Executive Director of Americans for Safe Access will be hosting a community stakeholders’ meeting at Green Door Lounge, 847 Howard Street, San Francisco, at 7pm.
ASA Executive Director Steph Sherer and ASA California Director, Don Duncan have been traveling the state holding stakeholder meetings with key constituencies in critical areas. These meetings include a series of trainings on everything from strategic planning to lobbying and media messaging, as well as discussion of how to not just pass federal, state, and local legislation that creates safe and legal access but also implement, strengthen, and protect those laws so they meet the needs of patients. ASA has developed a whole new approach and are using the tools necessary to keep moving safe access forward.
